A agência dos Correios
de São Benedito do Sul, na Mata Sul de Pernambuco, foi assaltada nesta
segunda-feira (16). De acordo com informações da Polícia Militar, dois homens
armados invadiram a agência e fizeram os funcionários reféns. Eles roubaram o
dinheiro que estava nos caixas e um revólver calibre 38, utilizado pelo
segurança do local. Na fuga, os assaltantes levaram ainda o carro de uma
funcionária e fizeram outros dois funcionários de reféns.

Os bandidos foram
perseguidos pela polícia e ouve troca de tiros. Um deles, José Amaurí dos
Santos, de 21 anos, que mora na rua Ana Albuquerque, bairro Salgado em
Caruaru, foi atingido por um disparo nas costas e foi preso em Panelas, no
Agreste. Ele foi encaminhado para o Hospital Regional do Agreste (HRA),
em Caruaru. O segundo preso, o ex-presidiário, Junio Canuto da
Silva, de 25 anos, ele foi encontrado e preso em Quipapá, onde mora. Ele
foi atingido no pé e socorrido para o hospital municipal de Jaqueira. Os reféns
que estavam com ele não sofreram ferimentos.

A polícia conseguiu
recuperar a arma e o dinheiro que foram roubados da agência. A PM apreendeu
outra arma que pertencia aos bandidos. O carro da funcionária também foi
recuperado. A polícia informou ainda que a agência deve passar por uma perícia
que será feita por peritos da Polícia Federal (PF).
Os presos, continuam internados e logo que
sejam liberados, devem ser encaminhados para o sistema penitenciário.
