Muita gente foi até a
Penitenciária Juiz Plácido de Souza para acompanhar a soltura dos vereadores
Jadiel Nascimento (PROS) e Eduardo Cantarelli (SDD), últimos a terem direito ao
habeas corpus. Na saída dois sentimentos e posições diferentes dos edis. Assim
como os outros vereadores envolvidos na Operação Ponto Final, Eduardo deixou a
unidade prisional sem falar com a imprensa. Ele entrou num veículo e apenas
acenou que estava tudo bem.
Já o vereador Jadiel
fez questão de falar com os jornalistas e disse que acredita na justiça.
“Agradeço a Deus e saio de cabeça erguida. Confio num Deus que sabe como eu sou
e por isso, glorifico o nome dele”, disse. Na saída dezenas de membros da
Igreja Adventista saudaram o vereador, que é conhecido como Pastor Jadiel e aos
gritos de inocente, levantaram ele nos braços.
Após deixar a unidade
ao lado dos parentes, uma mini-carreata foi formada para acompanhar o edil até
a residência dele.
NO CONTEXTO - Os vereadores Jadiel Nascimento (PROS),
Sivaldo Oliveira (PP), Val das Rendeiras (PROS), Cecílio Pedro (PTB), Val
(DEM), Louro do Juá (DEM), Eduardo Cantarelli (SDD), Neto (PMN), Evandro Silva
(PMDB) e Jajá (PPS) foram presos na última quarta durante uma operação da
Polícia Civil.
Segundo o delegado
responsável pelas investigações, Salustiano Albuquerque, eles estavam exigindo
vantagens indevidas da prefeitura para aprovar determinados projetos do
Executivo. Foram cumpridos dez mandados de prisão preventiva, quatro mandados
de condução coercitiva para ouvir três vereadores e um secretário executivo do
município e ainda 13 mandados de busca e apreensão domiciliar. Os mandados
foram expedidos pelo juiz Francisco de Assis Júnior, da 4ª Vara Criminal de
Caruaru, e todos foram cumpridos.
Participaram da
operação 120 policiais civis, entre delegados, agentes e escrivães. A ação foi
coordenada pela Chefia da Polícia Civil. As investigações foram efetuadas pela
Gerência de Controle Operacional do Interior I.
