Uma cena chocante marcou aquela que pode ser a última luta de
Anderson Silva no MMA. No início do segundo round, o brasileiro deu um
forte chute e sua canela bateu com a canela de Chris Weidman, sofrendo
uma horrível fratura exposta. Assim, o norte-americano manteve o
cinturão dos pesos médios no UFC 168.
"Primeiramente, eu queria
dizer que não importa o que acontecesse hoje, ele ainda é o melhor de
todos os tempos. Esse cara merece muito. Não queria que tivesse sido
dessa maneira", disse Weidman. "Essa foi a primeira coisa que tive que
estudar e trabalhar, acho que ele faz isso muito bem. Os chutes dele
machucam bastante."
Muito se falou em um golpe de sorte no
combate de julho passado, principalmente por conta das brincadeiras e
provocações do Spider durante o combate, mas agora Weidman mostrou que
pode manter o título até 84kg do Ultimate por muito tempo. Ele nem mesmo
se importou com a torcida brasileira, que compareceu em peso à arena em
Las Vegas.
Agora, o campeão deve ter outro brasileiro em seu
caminho. O veterano Vitor Belfort já tem prometido e apalavrado por Dana
White sua segunda chance de disputar o cinturão dos médios, depois de
ter sido nocauteado pelo próprio Anderson em fevereiro de 2011.
A luta -
Logo no primeiro clinch, Anderson até conseguiu se defender da queda,
porém, levou um cruzado na têmpora e acabou indo ao chão. Por pouco, o
knock-down não virou nocaute para o norte-americano. Chris ficou dentro
da guarda do brasileiro e bateu no ground and pound. Silva ficou perto
de ser derrotado logo no período inicial.
O brasileiro voltou
bem para o segundo round, partindo para cima e acertando bons golpes no
norte-americano. Mas em um chute baixo muito forte, a perna de Anderson
pegou em cheio na canela de Weidman. O osso quebrou no meio em uma cena
muito feia. Silva teve de sair de maca e chorando muito do octógono.
