O suspeito de ser executor do promotor Thiago Faria Soares, 36
anos, foi preso no município de Águas Belas, no Agreste pernambucano, nessa
terça-feira (15). Identificado como Edimacir Cruz, ele teria uma ligação
familiar com o fazendeiro que é apontado
pelas investigações como mandante do crime, de acordo com a
Secretaria de Defesa Social (SDS). A prisão só foi divulgada nesta manhã (16).
O promotor Thiago Faria foi assassinado com quatro tiros de espingarda calibre
12 na segunda (13), em Itaíba, também no Agreste.
"Após exaustivas diligências pelas polícias Civil e
Militar, chegamos ao autor dos disparos", afirmou o secretário de Defesa
Social, Wilson Damázio, à Rádio Jornal, nesta manhã. Segundo Damázio, ele
prestou depoimento na tarde dessa terça e recebeu voz de prisão durante a
noite. "Ele foi reconhecido como um dos participantes pela testemunha
principal, a noiva do promotor", disse Damázio. Contra o suspeito, já
havia um mandado de prisão por roubo. Agora, há também um de prisão temporária
- válido por 30 dias - por causa do assassinato do promotor.
