Na noite deste domingo (08), por volta das 20h, um grave acidente
ocorrido da BR-104, no trecho entre o distrito de Pão de Açúcar e a Vila
do Socorro, envolveu quatro veículos, sendo dois carros e duas motos.
De acordo com as informações apuradas pela nossa equipe de reportagem
com testemunhas do acidente, o condutor de uma das motos, identificado
por Rinaldo Bento Torres (mais conhecido como “Rinaldo da Zabumba”)
estava no acostamento da estrada com outra pessoa na garupa quando um
veículo gol (de cor prata e placa KGW 6229) acertou em cheio a traseira
da moto.

Frente do veículo que provocou o acidente ficou completamente destruída.
Com o impacto, o carro rodou na pista e atingiu outros dois veículos,
sendo um carro (modelo Gol, de cor branca, placa não anotada) e mais
uma moto, ambos vindo em sentido oposto.

Após provocar o acidente, o motorista do primeiro veículo (que não
foi identificado), fugiu do local do acidente sem prestar socorro as
vítimas, que foram depois socorridas pela equipe do Samu.
Rinaldo, vítima mais grave, não resistiu aos ferimentos e morreu no local, antes da chegada do Samu.

A Polícia Militar também foi acionada e organizou o trânsito até a
chegada da Polícia Federal, que assumiu a ocorrência. Peritos da Polícia
Civil estiveram no local e realizaram o levantamento cadavérico.

Rinaldo era conhecido por atuar em conjunto com vários músicos de
Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, especialmente participando de vários “Arraial
da Vale”, evento semanal promovido pela Rádio Vale AM.
O corpo do músico está sendo velado no Teatro Municipal.
